eecc-communityThere are over 350,000 Eastern Europeans in WA, originally from Eastern Europe (Romania, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Croatia, Kosovo, Hungary,Poland, Czech Republic, Slovenia and Slovakia) and countries that emerged in the post-Soviet area (Russians, Ukrainians, Armenians, Belorussians, Georgians, Moldavians, Azerbaijanis, Kazakhs, etc.). Two thirds of them are Russian-speakers making them the second largest immigrant community by language after Hispanics in our state. No other nonprofit behavioral health agency in Washington State is dedicated specifically to the care of this population providing them with mental health services that are culturally sensitive and in their native language.
